Whether the election outcome brought joy or sadness to you, we can all agree we’re glad it’s over! Perhaps like me, you simply feel numb and cautious about the future from a political standpoint. A huge part of surviving this election ordeal for me, was keeping an eternal perspective. Staying focused on those things that bring life to my soul daily kept me from constant “election stress”. Today I’m serving serenity soul food because I figured we all could use some healthy detox!
Come join me for a pumpkin latte or your favorite autumn beverage and breathe. Let’s not dwell on the past or fret for the future. Let’s breathe in God’s goodness today, and exhale gratitude for His Presence with us always. I compiled a few things that breathe life into my soul to share with you today, will you sit with me a bit? I promise you won’t regret it!

A Prayer in a Poem
This poem by Amy Carmichael calls me to quiet rest in he Presence of My Savior
My Prayer
And shall I pray Thee change Thy will my Father,
Until it be according unto mine?
But no, Lord, no, that shall never be, rather
I pray Thee blend my human will with Thine.
I pray Thee hush the hurrying eager longing
I pray Thee soothe the pangs of keen desire.
See in my quiet places wishes thronging,
Forbid them, Lord, purge, though it be with fire.
And work in me to will and do Thy pleasure.
Let all within me, peaceful, reconciled,
Tarry content my Wellbeloved’s leisure,
At last, at last, even as a weaned child.

Tears of thankfulness
serenity in gratitude
Considering my own gratitude journey and the emotionally exhausting months of 2020, I developed a new devotional. This quiet time devotional is designed to help you find peace and rest in your daily quiet times while incorporating gratitude in unique ways. My Serenity in Gratitude devotional will help you create ease in expressing gratitude without imposing expectations.
Expressing gratitude promotes physical and spiritual well-being, which we all need right now! My new devotional helps you find rest for your soul through daily quiet time activities. Each group of activities spans one week of the month, focusing on a different aspect of gratitude each week. They can be done in any order, and started any time or any month. The devotional offers daily activities, or choose two or three activities for the week.
This is my gift to you! Grab your FREE copy today at the end of this post! I specifically designed the devotional for use anytime, as this time of year can be hectic. My gift to you in Serenity in Gratitude is to offer gentle ways of exploring gratitude without pressure, guilt or expectations. The devotional offers a contemplative approach for inward and outward reflection meant for “lingering”. While we all need an avenue of gratitude expression, I desire to offer a peaceful path of soul restoration in the mist of gratitude.
Serenity in song
serenity’s perspective
Incredibly blessed by Psalm 18:50 right now. We know Christ is David’s son (Matthew 1:1), but we often forget Romans 8:29, which reminds us that we are David’s “offspring’ as well. Knowing tat, Psalm 18:50 is a tremendous blessing anytime, but especially in troubled times.
“Great salvation He brings to His king, and shows steadfast love to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.” Psalm 18:50

This is what my soul needs as we go into another lockdown and I am further shielding because of chemo. It is hard but I read in God.
Donna B says
Thank you, Beth for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. I’m so sorry to hear you are going through chemo, that is never easy. So glad you found a measure of enjoyment with my post! I have to take breaks like that myself, especially when times are trying. May God’s presence envelop you completely today with His love.
