Welcome!
I am thrilled that you stopped by Serenity in Suffering! I hope you’ll stay awhile and find refreshment for your weary heart. My vision moved me to create a place where anyone could find Peace and Purpose in the Storms of life; a safe place to rest, find hope, encouragement, inspiration, and tools for personal growth in times of trial.
The title for my blog is born out of personal struggle and suffering, but also the personal and spiritual growth I experienced walking through the hard places of life. As a partner in this journey, I would like to share with you encouraging articles, inspiration when you most need it, tips and helps for self-care, ways to improve your overall well-being, and mindfulness guidance. Most important of all you will learn ways to grow personally and find spiritual intimacy with Christ, as you find purpose in the trials you face. My prayer for you is that you may truly find Serenity in Suffering.
Let Me Introduce Myself
I am first and foremost a woman who loves God with all of my being, who has graciously allowed me to become a Mom to three now adult children, wife to an amazingly caring husband, and “GiGi” to 5 grandchildren, one of which waits for me in heaven.
I am a passionate creative, writer, poet, speaker, retired missionary, CASA volunteer, experienced counselor and hospice and palliative care support personnel, and author of the Serenity in Suffering newsletter on Substack. I enjoy writing in various mediums including poetry, I also enjoy painting, hiking and spending quiet time in nature.
My Story
God chose to write my story differently than I would have chosen. He chose to add paths of suffering, pain and loss; He also chose to add amazing adventures, opportunities and people. While I would not have chosen this story for myself, every facet of my story has shaped the woman I am today, and I would not change one single thing. You can read more HERE.
